More Snowy Photos

Here are a few photos I took while out on my pre-dawn walk with the dogs this morning. The sky was just turning lavender and I had a newly charged battery in my camera, and I think we all realize by now that I have a serious problem restraining myself from photographing snowy trees and sunrises. At least this time, I also included a photo of our little house in the woods.

Mmm, really makes one appreciate the seasons seeing this. As much as I hate the cold (which has led to serious conversations in this household about moving to a warmer climate) seeing the snowy trees somehow makes winter seem all the more bearable :)

    Hi Emily:

The snowy pictures bring back memories of New Hampshire, miss hte beausiful scenes, but do not miss having to deal with snow, enjoy the warmth of Florida. By the way the little house in the woods looks very inviting.

Hi Jen! The really nice thing about the climate here is that because of the gulf stream, it's actually no colder here than it is in New York. (And I think it is a lot warmer than it was in Iowa--now those were some cold winters!) I haven't ever had a dead battery here due to cold, though our car is arguably much nicer and more reliable than the Cavalier I drove around in college!

Maria and George, our little house is very inviting, and we have the prettiest guest room just waiting for you to arrive! Maybe sometime this summer you'll feel like escaping the Florida humidity? Emily

Your house in the forest looks so charming! I had to show it to lorenzo that loved it with all the snow tucked around it. He asked me though, how on earth would 2 americans end up in the middle of a norwegian forest? Ehehehe.. maybe he's afraid I'll take him away from the sunny southern europe to the snow :-)

Hi Astrid! We moved to Gjovik for my husband's job--he used to work for this Norwegian company in New York and he got a promotion which required us to locate to their headquarters. The company actually owns the house we live in and rents it to us at a very reasonable rate. Good thing too, I don't think too many landlords would be too keen on all our beasties! Emily
